What If You’re Applying to Australia After July 1, 2025?
If you’re planning to apply for your Australia student visa now, keep in mind: the new visa fee of AUD 2,000 is already in effect. This rule started from July 1, 2025, and applies to all fresh applications.
Yes, the total cost is now higher. Nepali students must now add NPR 35,000–40,000 extra just for the visa fee. This can impact your sponsor’s budget or loan amount, especially if you had planned using the old fee.
If you applied before June 30, no need to panic — your application will be processed under the old AUD 1,600 rate. But for everyone applying now, it’s time to adjust.
What You Should Do Now:
- Recalculate your total visa expense including the new fee
- Update your bank or sponsor documentation to reflect this change
- Don’t delay your application further — more changes can happen at any time
- Talk to a counselor to avoid rejection due to outdated budgets
🇨🇦 Canada’s New Financial Proof Requirement – Starts September 1, 2025
Canada has also updated its international student visa rules. From September 1, 2025, students will need to show CAD 22,895 per year for living expenses — a noticeable increase from the previous amount.
This is about NPR 14+ lakh, separate from tuition fees. Whether you’re self-funding, using a bank loan, or supported by a sponsor, you must now prove stronger financial backing.
What You Should Do:
- Prepare bank statements, GIC, or sponsor documents that meet the new amount
- Apply early — if you submit your Canada student visa application before Sept 1, the old financial requirement may still apply
- Double-check your financial plan with your education consultant
- Avoid weak documentation — Canada is very strict on financial proof
What This Means for Nepali Students
The cost of studying abroad is increasing. Both Australia and Canada have made big changes that affect your budget, document preparation, and timeline.
This also means more students might face rejection if their finances aren’t up to date. So it’s important to be ready — not just emotionally, but financially too.
